March...so far.

We have had a fun month so far, lots has happened in the last few weeks. Sammy spilled his fishies on my couch and Kody gave him a lesson in cleaning them up, what are big brothers for anyway? Then it was Mock Trial time again for Danielle, she had a blast and is always so fierce in the courtroom. I hope it sparks her desire to go into law someday, she would be great at it! Thier team didn't win, but one of the girls got invited to Nationals.

Then of course March is always full of birthdays. Sammy's in on the 5th, and our nephew Justin is on the 7th. So on the 6th, Danny's mom made dinner and Aunt Liz baked a killer cake and we celebrated! Part of the fun was the fact that Dan's Uncle Brian and Aunt Ann, and Father Fred were all in town and came to dinner too! We had a blast with all of them. Thank goodness Father Fred could hold his own, cause Danny and Joe pulled out all the Catholic priest jokes they could think of, and the blind jokes, since he is blind also.

Sammy loved the candles in the cake and was so excited while we sang to him and Justin. That is Aunt Liz next to him. Kody and Tyler always have a good time when they are together, I snapped this pic as they were waiting for the cake.

Sammy couldn't wait to dig in and here is a pic of Justin trying to blow his candles out. It's hard to believe that he and Danielle are both 15 now. Wow, where does the time go?

Brian and Ann are always entertained by the Oquists when they are in town. Danny and Joe were full steam ahead with jokes and harassment all night long, Brian and Ann just sit back and enjoy the show, sometimes they get a few zingers in themselves.

Here is Father Fred taking all the harassment, he gave it right back to the boys! After about 20 min into the evening he took his collar off and put it in his pocket claiming, "I guess I will have to hold my own tonight!" He really is an enjoyable guy to be around! Of course Danny is laughing and couldn't believe where the conversation went!

It was a truely enjoyable Oquist/Rainwater family dinner. I love these nights with any of the family, the kids had a blast we talked and laughed all night long!

Of course the spring also brings some new Soccer leagues. Kody decided to play, after 2 years off and he went out for his school's team. I took this pic of him after it was announced that he made the team, he is a goalie of course! Danielle also will be playing in a spring league with her school.

Here he is during his first game, he was in for the whole second half. It was a frezing cold day, you can tell by the way he is standing, this is probably when being a goalie isn't very fun at least if you were a regular teammate you would be running around keeping warm! But he loves it!

March also brought another big snow storm and a 2 hour delay for all the kids. This pic is our forever puddle where the washer run off is and now it is a giant ice patch with all the toy cars and rescue heros trapped in it!

Also for Kody was his first band concert at the new school. It went ok, better than the new band leader at HMS, but still not as good as Mr Sprague. They played 3 songs, Kody played the big bass drum in the first song, then the cymbals for the William Tell Overture, and lastly he played the stick in the last number. The 3rd pic is hard to see, but he is banging a wooden stick on the ground.

Next birthday to come was Lauryn, she is now 10! Hard to believe but she is, for her class last Friday she requested individual "dirt cup puddings". So I spent the morning crushing Oreos and making Vanilla pudding, then we added 2 gummy worms to each and a flower to complete the dirt cup look. They were a big hit and Lolo said everyone asked for more!

We attended the wedding of some good friends of ours on Friday Mar, 12. Bree and Sean have become some fast friends, Bree was a dancer at the Academy of Performing Arts and is now a teacher there since turning 18. They have been over a few times and are very enjoyable, they are great with the kids and someday make very good parents! We had a blast, this is a pic of their cake topper, I love the bride grabbing her man off the motorcycle! The cute part was they had a ton of cupcakes, the wedding cake was just big enough for them, and the rest of us got the cupcakes. They looked so happy and I hope the Lord will bless thier future together.

Despite Danny trying to look grumpy for the picture, he had a great time! The boys LOVED thier cupcakes, as you can see Sammy really got into eating his, he got tired of holding it and decided to just eat straight off the table.

These two little cuties and thier family sat with us at the reception. Danny immediately started to harass them, the little girl looked at her mom and said, "I am going to dance with that guy!" She laughed at everything Danny said and "flirted" in her little 6 yr old way with Dan all night. Guess I have some competition here!

So far March has been a fun, good month. I can't wait to see what the next 2 weeks bring. This week is Spring Break and the girls will be attending Nana's Camp on Thursday and Friday, so there will be plenty more in store, I'm sure!
