SK8 Comp 5/8

Better late than never!!! Here is a slide show from the skate competition on May 9! Kody had a great time. However, he didn't seem to do as well as the last one. He took a couple big spills. He ended up with a nice swollen and discolored elbow, he didn't want to leave the comp to get it looked at, so we waited for Monday and he saw Dr Bryan. Nothing major was wrong, just some pretty deep bruising. I think he will continue to do better, he asked for a helmet and pads. I think he's ready for the BIG tricks! We'll see. I have alot to catch up on, but it will have to wait til later!

ahahaha that picture of Sammy that said, "Where is Kody?" Made me think of "Where is tall man?" HAHAHAHA

Growing up on the South & West side of the Valley you get accustomed to tagging & graffiti. You see what I lovingly call "ghetto art" every where, be it a gang tag or genuine graffiti, it becomes a part of you. Also, being a child of the late 80's & early 90's I fell in love with Hip Hop as I got to witness it's start & watch it blossom into it's greatness that was the New Jack Era. Put these two things together & a normal white farm girl, thinks of herself as a little bit hood. My husband being a product of the West Side has always needed a "tag", a few years ago we wanted something just our own, so we played around with the way other groups come up with their tag. We settled on the idea of interchanging letters with the number of the alphabet. For instance: "South Side" would be 1818..as S is the 18th letter of the alphabet. So we have adopted the number 15 as our family tag, as "O" is the 15th letter of the alphabet, which we then turned into 5Teen. Hence the title of the blog & the random 15's you will find around our house & on various things that belong to us.
